Follow Friday

It's time for the weekly hop!! If you want to join the fun, visit Alison Can Read  or Parajunkee's View for the link.

Q: Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you've done, that as you gained more experience you were like -- oops?

Accepting book review requests without a clear review policy! So, I was like, explaining to each and every author/agent/publisher those policies I want to implement and that's too much work as I look back. And providing a review date and then writing the review late. . . . awww....

As for the one major stupid thing I've done when I was starting, well, deleting all book review requests because I thought they were bogus emails. I remember getting the first review request in my 1st year of blogging and it went straight to trash without reading it!! I even turned down requests from Penguin and only realized it's PENGUIN (!) when I finally noticed the email address! LOL That was the OLD me!

Happy Friday!!!

I'm terrified of doing the same thing although I've probably requested too many ARCs from netgalley at this point. I figured they would say no, but a lot said yes!!

I'm so jealous of your publisher connections. <3 I wish I had that problem! JK.

I haven't turned down a publisher yet, but when I get the out of the blue request from them, I'm a little surprised and let it sit in my inbox for a few days before responding.

I was never one to accept review requests right away. Still don't. Not everyone actually reads my review policy because I would get requests for tons of books that weren't even paranormal!

Hahaha! You deleted a request from Penguin?! Oh my God, I'm sorry, but I can't stop laughing! :P A Review Policy was the first thing my fellow blogger Janhvi and I wrote when we started our blog! I hope you don't send your request to Trash now. I LOVED reading your answer!

Whoops! Often I don't check my spam folder though so if anything goes in there it could be important, and I wouldn't know!!
Love your design :-)

I would pass out if Penguin emailed me. lol But I'm horrible about deleting emails without reading them if the title isn't catchy.

I think I am a bit jealous of Penguin contacting you. There are times in the past I have done that. Now I look through it and I always reply to a request, even if I am unable to read it and do the review. I have to say I just love the layout of your blog.

Oh man - I did something similar, in my first review policy I had a line saying that I would review a book within 30 days of receiving it. Little did I know just how many review requests I'd be getting, there was no way I could keep to that - that policy didn't last long at all, lol.

Hehe...I use to delete some messages without looking and then I hurry to trash to retrieve them! Now I am more careful.
