Blog hOp: HOP hop HOP

It's Friday again! Time for the weekly BLOG HOP! These weekly blog hops are being hosted by Parajunkee's view and Crazy for Books

This week's question:

What do you do besides reading / reviewing as a hobby??

I watch movies with my husband, spend time with my 2 kids, uhm what else? Ah yeah, sleeping....

This week's question is:

"What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?"

Richelle Mead's Dark Swan Series and Blue Bloods Series by Melissa dela Cruz. I did NOT enjoy the first books of those two series. And some of Nicholas Sparks books - Dear John and The Notebook.

Of course, I was wondering what's wrong with me. While everyone who has read the series said those were great, I had a hard time in reading them. I felt bad for not loving and even liking them.. . .

Have a great weekend!

There are some authors like Nicholas Sparks I just can't manage to get into, but I have realized that you're better off just enjoying what you love than trying to fit into what everyone else likes :)

I love your random coloured rating system by the way!

Here via the Blog Hop link. I haven't come across any hyped books yet that I've not loved, but then I only recently found the book blogs :)

I dont think there is anything wrong with not liking a book that everyone else likes ,you are entitled to your own opinon and shouldn't have to feel guilty for having one!

I was on the fence with the first Blue Blood book. It seemed too juvenile, even for YA, but I was halfway interested in the story and it grew on me with each book I tried!

I'm a new follower! My Hop is at Coffee Table Press

I know what you mean...but I don't actually read the hyped books, because I know that I won't like most of them, just by the titles and synopses.

It's perfectly okay to NOT follow the crowd!

Here's my Hop:

I loved A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks (I was also 12 when I first read it) but haven't really felt anything for any of his other books so you're definitely not alone.

I don't want anyone to smack me for this, but I don't like most of the Nicholas sparks books I've read ... too sappy for me, but since my middle daughter is the one who buys them, I'm not out of my book-buying dollars for something I didn't like!

I'm ready for LS to come out. I actually have to agree with you on blue bloods I liked the first couple of books but this last one I read didn't really hold my interest like some of the others. Maybe the fact that some of the characters I liked weren't in it.

Hi,
Just hopping by and following through. I havn't read either of those series yet, thanks for another perspective on them!

My reviews tend to contain things I both liked and disliked about a book, but if the negatives outweigh the positives I feel a bit bad. But if you only write glowing reviews, they become meaningless. Crescendo is the only book I've reviewed so far that I gave less than 3* and I was very apologetic about it, but I had to be honest.

I haven't read any Nicholas Sparks, have seen the movies of the two you mentioned and they were okay but I didn't like the characters much - I hated the girl in both cases.
