While browsing the internet yesterday, I found myself missing Riley and Quinn, a series by Keri Arthur and I was surprised to learn that Keri wrote a short story of Riley and Quinn and she posted it on her website for FREE! Oh goody! Here's the link to the sweet short story. I love it!
I also checked her Anthologies and saw this:
Short stories written by Sherri Erwin, Caitlin R. Kiernan, Jenna Black, Jenna Maclaine, Raven Hart, Delilah Devlin, Keri Arthur, Kimberly Raye, Alexis Morgan, Lilith Saintcrow, C.T. Adams, Cathy Clamp, Susan Sizemore, Dina James, Colleen Gleason, Barbara Emrys, Savannah Russe, Shiloh Walker, Vicki Pettersson, Rebecca York, Rachel Vincent, Amanda Ashley, Karen Chance, and Nancy Holder.
It's a compilation of 25 short stories from the authors mentioned above. I'm not sure If I want to buy this because the only author I know is Keri Arthur. On the other hand, I want to buy this because according to Keri, her short story is about Riley's world but told from Quinn's POV which I think is OMG! Might be good reading Quinn's POV.
Hmmm . . . . let's see.
If you guys are not familiar with the series, here is the link to all the books of RILEY JENSON. The series is superb and has great book covers too, try the first book
Full Moon Rising and you will love it! :)
"A rare hybrid of vampire and werewolf, Riley Jenson and her twin brother, Rhoan, work for Melbourne’s Directorate of Other Races, an organization created to police the supernatural races–and protect humans from their depredations. While Rhoan is an exalted guardian, a.k.a. assassin, Riley is merely an office worker–until her brother goes missing on one of his missions. The timing couldn’t be worse. More werewolf than vampire, Riley is vulnerable to the moon heat, the weeklong period before the full moon, when her need to mate becomes all-consuming.…
Luckily Riley has two willing partners to satisfy her every need. But she will have to control her urges if she’s going to find her brother….Easier said than done as the city pulses with frenzied desire, and Riley is confronted with a very powerful–and delectably naked–vamp who raises her temperature like never before.
In matters carnal, Riley has met her match. But in matters criminal, she must follow her instincts not only to find her brother but to stop an unholy harvest. For someone is doing some shifty cloning in an attempt to produce the ultimate warrior–by tapping into the genome of nonhumans like Rhoan. Now Riley knows just how dangerous the world is for her kind–and just how much it needs her." http://www.keriarthur.com

Book Review: The Strangers Outside by Vanessa Morgan
Title: The Stranger's Outside
Author: Vanessa Morgan
Format: Kindle Edition
File size: 35 kb
Sold by: Amazon Digital Services

My thoughts:
The book is scary and creepy, the story will keep you guessing. I like the story and after reading this book, I have decided that I will never go to any remote place for a holiday. This book is currently turned into a movie and I want to see the movie once it comes out.
The book is good, but why 3 stars only? Well that's because this is just a short story. It might have been better if it wasn't so short.
Anyway, I know some people prefer short stories because they can't read hundred-pages of books (yes, i'm looking at you Liza - hope you are reading my posts!) so this is the one I am recommending for a good short story read.
Synopsis:
"Two sisters, Jennifer and Louise, return to their remote holiday cabin after a day at the seaside. But little do they know they're being surrounded. Shortly after their arrival, the girls will come face to face with THE STRANGERS OUTSIDE. When the assailants make their intentions known, things take a shockingly terrible turn and an intense battle for survival will begin."( http://vanessa-morgan.blogspot.com)
About the author:
Vanessa Morgan is the author of the horror books Drowned Sorrow and The Strangers Outside. Both stories are currently being turned into movies. She loves animals, movies, books, tea, spicy food, city trips, languages (she speaks Dutch, French, English and Spanish) and her cat Avalon. She lives in Brussels, Belgium.
Note: I received a review copy of this e-book free from the author, Vanessa Morgan. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

This week's question:
What is your reading suggestion this week?
Definitely it's Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead. The last book will come out on December 7 - Last Sacrifice and the wait is killing me! Read my review for Vampire Academy Books 1-3. I won't suggest reading my review for book 4 because of spoilers but here's my review for book 5. Currently, VA is the one of the only two series I can say my all-time favorites (the other one is The Lord of the Rings).
This week's question is:
When you read a book that you can't get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or move to your next title.
I really try my best to finish the book even if it's not really that good (especially the book I accepted for review) because I keep on hoping something's good gonna happen. Sometimes, if the book's boring, I'd get another one until I find a good book then after finishing it, I would go back to reading the boring one. And so far it only happened to me twice this year.
If you want me to visit your blog, just leave your name and link :)
Have a great weekend!

The End is Near!
The other day (or month) I received this another wonderful great great award from The Crazy Bookworm, it's called the Blog of the Week award. Thanks to you!! Love this!
It was actually awarded to me last September 19. Yikeees! What's wrong with me? It seems that it's really hard to find "free time" nowadays. Working + kids = no "ME" time. I just realized that it's been straight three weeks since the last time I got "ME" time. Where to find this, you tell me pleeazZze! I just hope before this year ends or early December, things at work would be back to normal again.
Oh speaking of December. I read in Richelle Mead's blog that she had an interview with Charlaine Harris. They talked about the upcoming release of Last Sacrifice (CH asked RM if she would resolve the issues of love triangle in VA - aw! The usual, she didn't give any spoiler) and Ms. Harris' plans on doing two more Sookie's. Two more? Right now, I don't have any desire to read Sookie 10 (Dead in the Family). After reading a lot of negative comments/reviews, I guess I'm gonna skip reading it. To watch the interview, click here.
Richelle Mead's Last Sacrifice is the end of the Vampire Academy series. The release date is 7 December, THE END IS NEAR! Richelle posted this:
This is the UK cover for VA's last book. What do you think? That's cool but I still like the original cover below.

As for the movie, Pregger Entertainment has not released any more news on this. If VA is really being turned into movies, then I think I can wait, even if it takes years to finish one movie, that's okay with me. I'm just hoping they'd get perfect ones to fit the VA characters, especially Rose and Dimitri.
And speaking of Dimitri, found this wallpaper somewhere - forgot where I got this but I'm sure it's an Australian website. Nice huh?
So, 52 more days before Last Sacrifice! Can't wait!

My thoughts:
Let's Do Lunch is a motivational book that talks about a unique weight loss program - "eat until you're full and still lose weight". The book is published by Thomas Nelson publishers.
The author, Roger Troy Wilson was a former obese man who was embarrased by his body that he tried every weight loss program but didn't get lucky enough to achieve his goal of keeping in shape.
The story of an obese man who lost hundreds of pounds made me curious and decided to read more. The book is about a unique weight loss program that he actually accidentally discovered with the help of his wife. This book will help you understand your body and the food you eat. It also has simple and delicious recipes and tips on how to eat out. There is also a 14-day meal guide here. One thing I liked in this book was how he got rid of cravings for sweets and the secret was frozen grapes!
Right now, after trying the program for a month, I can say that my cravings for sweets and any food that I can chew when I'm not doing anything, they are almost gone. Instead of eating sweets like chocolates (eat-all-you-can on weekends) now we are eating frozen grapes which really are yummy and this made me feel less heavier than before.
The book is very easy to read and understand. This is not only for those obese/fat people, it's also for those who just wanted to keep in shape/stay in shape. I'm not fat but I wanted to get rid of those pounds I got after giving birth, so maybe 10lbs is enough (last time I checked, lost 2lbs).
The only problem I had in this book was that I couldn't follow the grocery list because either I couldn't find them or they're expensive and it requires me to spend more hours in the grocery. Other than that, the book is good and it's worth buying.

I am a big fan of the first three RE movies and I can't believe that they made the fourth one like this. The acting and visuals were great but the story wasn't good. If you're not familiar with the RE movies, you will not enjoy Afterlife. There's really no connection at all with the first three and I was so disappointed with it. They introduced some characters, Chris Redfield - brother of Claire Redfield (Ally Larter) like there was some great big secret to that guy but at the end of the movie, I kept on thinking what was the connection of that new guy to the story. I don't know, the director should have provided a little background or maybe if he's just introducing the guy for the 5th one (yes, there will be a 5th movie to this RE series), he should have just introduced him before the movie ends.
The weakest movie of all four, I'm glad I didn't watch this in 3D (husband wanted to watch in 3D but we were an hour late). Bottomline, if you love the first three RE, watch this movie but if not, just go see another movie for you will be lost in this, I guarantee you.
About the movie:
"In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice, continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead - and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap." True Blood Season 3 (TV Series)
True Blood Season 3 was based on Charlaine Harris' Club Dead (Book 3 of the Sookie Stackhouse Series).
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
"There’s only one vampire Sookie Stackhouse is involved with (at least voluntarily) and that’s Bill. But recently he has been a little distant. Bill informs Sookie that he has to go somewhere on a top-secret mission for the queen of Louisiana (vampires have a strict territorial hierarchy) and promptly disappears.
Later, Sookie is informed by Eric, the charismatic head of the local vampire territory, that someone has kidnapped Bill in Mississippi and that his life may be in grave danger. Sookie also learns that her undead boyfriend was actually summoned by one of his ex-girlfriends, a vicious vampire named Lorena, who was hired to seduce, abduct, and torture Bill to obtain his top-secret information. Eric believes that Russell Edgington, the powerful king of Mississippi, has Bill somewhere on his sprawling compound. Sookie decides to do anything to rescue him." (http://sookiestackhouse.com)
Now that we have watched Seasons 1 and 2, it should now be clear to us that Allan Ball has created this TV series based on Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mystery novels but it loosely follows the plot of the books. This season, some new vampires and werewolves were introduced. Some other characters were also introduced which were not in book 3 like the Hotshot people and Crystal (Book 4 - Dead to the World), Claudine and Sookie being a half Fae (Book 8 - From Dead to Worse).
Honestly, there were times that I want to throw the book out of our window because Sookie sometimes irritates me, her life is really boring without the vampires and other supernatural creatures.
I love the new characters, especially Alcide and Crystal. Ball made a good story of Crystal's life when she met Jason. The difference was Crystal seemed in love with Jason in True Blood but in the book, she's not really sure of her feelings with Jason and that she had an affair with another man.
Well, I also love the Queen, Talbot (the best sream) and of course the King! He may be considered now as one of the TV's best villains.
So for Bill, Eric and Sookie, the story was unsurprising. What happened in season 3 was what happened in the book so I'm okay with it. Oh, btw, i think I'm in love with Jason Stackhouse. He truly makes me laugh and I always look forward to watching scenes with Jason on it! I love Ryan Kwanten, he's perfect in portraying Jason Stackhouse!
So, needless to say (again!) I love the show! More more! Can't wait for season 4!
